The Mobile Community Kitchen

Designed by University of Toronto’s Architecture students with the members of the Mount Dennis Community Kitchen in 2008, the kitchen-on-wheels consists of three trailers with different functions: a large eating table, where up to 50 people can sit, the barbecue cart and the trash-cart. Based on the concept that kitchens are social places that can fill the lack of community centres in the neighborhoods of cities, the 3 sections fold up, are easily transportable and assemble differently at each site and event.
